Public Mining Areas

Most people believe one of two things; that you can go anywhere, dig in the dirt and keep any gold you find, or that every gold bearing area, stream, wash, lode, etc is claimed up and protected by gun-toting madmen. Well, the fact is, neither of those are true, not 100% anyway (there must still be a few madmen out there)...

Seriously though, there are lots and lots of places that you can dip a pan in the water, run a sluice box or even do some dredging, and I'm going to do my best to document them all here (what am I getting myself into?!?!). Please feel free to drop me a note with any areas I for sure need to include - eathan {at} gmail {dot} com.

If you own a mining area that you open to the public for a fee, I'll also be happy to list it...for a fee... Drop me a note written on a portrait of Ulysses S. Grant, and I'll get right on it. Seriously though, contact me and we'll work something out. I'm easy.
